If you’re in the market for a small pocket-cruiser powered by an outboard, the new Merry Fisher 795 might be just the ticket. At just about 24 feet even, the new Jeanneau Merry Fisher 795 offers a lot of nifty features all in a pint-sized package. For starters, the 795 is powered by a 200HP outboard engine which makes it both fast and economical to maintain. It also has a good amount of outdoor living space in the cockpit, especially considering its size. There’s a nice cockpit table that can easily be set up for dining outside but can also be tucked out-of-the-way when not in use.
What makes the 795 really appealing however, is the enclosed cabin which allows you to escape the elements when the weather is too hot, too cold or too wet to be outside.
You would expect the main salon to be tight on a 24 footer right? It’s only logical. But this is not the case on the 795, in part because of the extremely large vertical windows on either side that allow for plenty of light to flood in and have the ability to be opened providing for plenty of fresh air. Also, the interior has been pushed completely out to the sides allowing for as much room as possible. The result is that the main salon, complete with inside steering station can only be described as impressive, again considering it’s only 24 feet overall.
A cruising boat wouldn’t be much good if you couldn’t actually live on it so the 795 comes complete with a nice galley, convertible salon table, double cabin below and full marine head with shower. Again, all this on a 24 footer. Pretty nice!
Overall the Merry Fisher 795 is a pretty impressive pocket cruiser offering lots of great space at a price that won’t completely drain your bank account. And how does it perform on the water? Have a look and see for yourself.
